ChargeFindr is a free service that helps electric vehicle drivers find charging stations across Europe. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data collected automatically

  • Server logs— Your IP address, browser type, and pages visited are recorded in standard server logs. These are retained for up to 30 days for security and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Cookies— We use essential cookies to remember your cookie preferences. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set with your explicit consent. See Section 5 for details.

2.2 Location data

When you use the "Near me" feature, your browser will ask permission to share your location. This data is processed entirely in your browser to find nearby chargers. We do not store your location on our servers.

2.3 Data we do NOT collect

We do not require user accounts, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or payment information.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide the charger search and route planning service
  • To improve the service through anonymous analytics (with consent)
  • To display relevant advertising (with consent)
  • To maintain security and prevent abuse

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Open Charge Map— Provides charging station data. Your search coordinates are sent to their API. Privacy Policy
  • CARTO / OpenStreetMap— Provides map tiles. Your approximate viewport coordinates are sent to load map images.
  • Nominatim (OpenStreetMap)— Geocodes your search queries into coordinates.
  • OSRM— Calculates driving routes for the route planner.
